Mrs Karen Reinberg-Abernethy kareinb3@gmail.com The contributions of Dr.Topping to Catholic education and to renewing Catholic culture is in my opinion a testimony to his love of the Gospels and his faith. I am saddened to hear of the decision taken by Dr. Jo-Ann Bradley. I agree with this petition and humbly ask for your intervention. Yes

Mr Giuseppe Tucci giuseppe.a.tucci@gmail.com Your Grace, I have known Dr Topping personally for some years now. I have always seen him to be an upright and just man, who loves Our Lord and above all wants to bring others to Jesus as well. I am shocked at his sudden dismissal, as it seems to stem from a beauracratic dislike rather than any action Dr Topping himself took. I urge you to look closer into these matters, as I fear he was unjustly dismissed. Thank you for your time, and God bless you. Giuseppe Tucci Yes

Mr Joseph Bacso jbacso@mykolab.com Dr. Topping is a faithful Catholic and his lectures are valued by students. The decision over his employment should not have been made by an interim President. Yes

Mrs Angela Campbell angelacampbellxyz@gmail.com This is horrible. The Topping family moved their oldest son into he’s 2nd year in the seminary and that same afternoon, Dr Topping was fired without cause. What does this communicate to other faithful Catholics? Or to other young men discerning their vocation. Archbishop Smith should be shamed of himself. Yes

Mr Benjamin Peloso peloso.ben@gmail.com How does a Catholic theological school have a Protestant board of directors? This seems flawed. Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” Luke 11:17 “ “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall" I love or Protestant brothers and Sister. However I do believe that without Catholic Faith they will lack the insight to foster a truly Catholic institution. It would be a rare and needful situation in which a Catholic leader could not be found to Shepard this school. I encourage you to rethink your dismissal and your current president. Of Course Bishop I trust that you have prayerfully discerned this decision. And respect your course of action, I am simply sharing thoughts, you have the specific grace to make this decision. I will be praying for you. Yes

Mr James H. jamesatthefoot@gmail.com Dr. Topping is a very well educated professor and I think that firing him was a very bad idea. I would also like to say that NTC was not well known before Dr. Topping and now without him, enrollment will drop. I expect a public apology to Dr. Topping. Yes

Mr Cody Skinner guitarmaster2011@hotmail.ca Dr. Topping is a good man and faithful to the Church and her teaching. It saddens me that not and more faithful men and women of faith are being treated in similar fashion to how Dr. Topping was treated. I pray the archbishop will intervene and investigate this. Yes

Mr Paul Sheedy paulsheedy250@gmail.com When I heard the news of Dr. Topping's dismissal, I felt like our faith was betrayed. NTC gave me hope that we would finally have better formed laity in this diocese, with its influence reaching much further. Dr. Topping played a crucial role in the growth of the college and instigating enthusiasm for the faith, especially among the youth. Is this not what we were praying for as a part of the "New Evangelization"? If this decision was personally motivated, it's time to look at the bigger picture. How much prayer went into this decision? Yes

Miss Rebecca Jacobson rebeccajssf@icloud.com Your Grace, I am deeply saddened regarding the sudden and unjust dismissal of Dr. Topping from NTC. Because of the fruit of his endeavors, I had begun to see a real flourishing of faith among the young people in Edmonton. I don't mean merely the enthusiasm that results from organized programs, which can come and go; but a real faith, with roots. I had hope that students in Alberta could perhaps find in NTC a truly Catholic education. Dr. Topping has been treated in an un-Christian way - with no explanation or apology - and our trust in our Catholic leadership and institutions suffers greatly. How can an authentically Catholic renewal take place within our Archdiocese if men like Dr. Topping are punished for the good they do? We desperately need firm leadership in this matter. Your Grace, I respectfully yet earnestly beg you to seriously consider this petition and the actions we are requesting. I will pray for you and for God's will to be done. Yes
